Privacy policy

How Furnible Pty Ltd collects, holds, uses, discloses and protects personal information worldwide.

Effective date: 15 August 2026
Issued by Furnible Pty Ltd, an Australian proprietary company. Furnible Pty Ltd is the contracting seller responsible for orders accepted through this website, including fulfilment, customer service, eligible refunds and warranty obligations.

Important: This document must be read together with any product page, quotation, invoice, order confirmation and other Furnible policy expressly incorporated into your purchase. Nothing in this document excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

1. Scope and who is responsible

This Privacy Policy applies when you visit furnible.com, purchase or enquire about products, request a quotation, book a consultation or access service, communicate through email, WhatsApp or social media, submit a review or other content, or otherwise interact with Furnible Pty Ltd.

Furnible Pty Ltd is the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this Policy, except where another organisation independently determines how it uses information.

Our store is hosted by Shopify. Shopify processes information to provide the commerce platform and may also act as an independent controller for certain enhanced or cross-merchant features. Shopify explains its own processing and privacy controls in its Consumer Privacy Policy and privacy portal at shopify.com/legal/privacy/consumers and privacy.shopify.com.

Your choices: You may browse parts of the website without creating an account. Some information is necessary to process an order, deliver furniture, respond to a request, prevent fraud or comply with law. Where information is optional, declining it may limit only the related feature or service.

2. Meaning of personal information

Personal information means information relating to an identified or reasonably identifiable individual. It does not include information that has been irreversibly anonymised so that no individual can reasonably be identified. The precise legal definition may vary by jurisdiction.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Identity and contact information

  • Name, title, company, role and account username;
  • Email address, telephone or WhatsApp number and communication preferences;
  • Billing, shipping, site and correspondence addresses; and
  • Identity or authority information where reasonably required for payment security, customs, delivery, sanctions screening or a rights request.

3.2 Order, payment and commercial information

  • Products viewed, saved, quoted, ordered, customised, returned or claimed;
  • Order number, invoice, transaction value, currency, discounts, deposit schedule and payment status;
  • Limited payment information such as card type, last digits, payment token and provider response. Full card details are ordinarily processed by the payment provider and are not stored by Furnible;
  • Delivery, customs, insurance, tracking, inspection, return, warranty and support records; and
  • Trade, project, business-registration, tax or resale information supplied for a commercial relationship.

3.3 Product, design and site information

  • Room dimensions, floor plans, photographs, videos, style preferences and furnishing requirements;
  • Approved product specifications, samples, finishes, drawings and customer-supplied designs;
  • Delivery access information such as lifts, stairs, loading rules and site contacts; and
  • Images, reviews or testimonials you submit or authorise us to use.

3.4 Communications and support information

We collect the content and metadata of communications with us, including emails, web forms, chats, WhatsApp messages, social-media messages, telephone notes, complaints, survey responses, claim evidence and recordings where recording is lawful and disclosed.

3.5 Device, usage and online activity

  • IP address, approximate location, device and browser type, language, operating system and identifiers;
  • Pages, products and advertisements viewed, searches, clicks, referral source, session activity and checkout events;
  • Cookie, pixel, tag, local-storage and similar technology data; and
  • Security, fraud, log and diagnostic information.

3.6 Inferences and recommendations

We may infer likely product interests, preferred styles, country, language, currency or marketing segment from purchases and online activity. Recommendations and advertising profiles do not determine eligibility for credit, employment, insurance or another similarly significant service.

4. Where information comes from

We collect information:

  • Directly from you or a person authorised by you;
  • Automatically through the website and connected technologies;
  • From Shopify, payment providers, fraud-prevention services and commerce applications;
  • From logistics providers, customs brokers, insurers, warehouses, installers and suppliers;
  • From advertising, analytics, social-media and review platforms where permitted;
  • From trade partners, designers, developers, project representatives and business contacts; and
  • From lawful public sources or authorities where needed for verification, compliance or dispute handling.

If you provide information about another person, such as a recipient, site contact or project representative, you should have authority to do so and should make this Policy available to them where appropriate.

5. How and why we use personal information

Purpose Typical information and basis
Orders and contracts To quote, accept payment, manufacture, fulfil, deliver, return and support an order. This is generally necessary to perform a contract or take requested pre-contract steps.
Customer service To answer enquiries, provide updates, resolve complaints, verify instructions and maintain our relationship. This is based on contract, consent where required, and our legitimate interest in effective service.
Personalisation and design To remember preferences, prepare furnishing options and recommend relevant products. This is based on your request, consent where required, and legitimate interests that do not override your rights.
Security and fraud prevention To authenticate activity, prevent unauthorised payment, protect accounts, investigate misuse and secure systems. This is based on legal obligations and legitimate interests in protecting customers and Furnible.
Delivery and customs To arrange freight, customs clearance, taxes, insurance, appointment booking and final delivery. This is necessary to perform the order and meet legal requirements.
Marketing To send opted-in or otherwise lawful promotional messages and measure campaigns. We use consent or an indication of no objection where required and provide a free opt-out.
Analytics and improvement To understand website performance, product demand, service quality and errors. Non-essential tracking is used only where permitted or consented to.
Legal and records To keep accounting, tax, company, warranty and dispute records; enforce terms; respond to lawful requests; and establish or defend legal claims.
Business transactions To evaluate or complete financing, restructuring, merger, acquisition or transfer of all or part of the business, subject to confidentiality and law.

Where we rely on legitimate interests under EEA or UK law, we consider the purpose, necessity and impact on individuals. You may request information about the balancing assessment relevant to your data.

6. Marketing and advertising

With the consent or indication of no objection required by applicable law, we may use your name, contact details, transaction history, product interests, location and online activity to market furniture, lighting, furnishing, design, sourcing, showroom or factory-access services, promotions and related Furnible offerings.

Applicable privacy and electronic-marketing laws, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), require us to send electronic marketing only with the required consent or on another lawful basis, to identify ourselves in each message and to provide a functional unsubscribe facility. You may opt out at any time free of charge. Silence is not treated as consent where affirmative consent is required.

You can unsubscribe using the link in an email, reply STOP where supported, change available cookie or account settings, or contact us. Opting out of marketing does not stop service messages about an order, security, policy changes or a claim.

We may use platforms such as Meta, Google, TikTok, Pinterest or similar providers, where enabled, to measure advertising or show more relevant advertisements. We may disclose identifiers and online activity to those providers. Some privacy laws may define particular targeted-advertising disclosures as a sale or sharing even though Furnible does not receive money for the personal information. Where applicable, you may opt out through our cookie controls, privacy request process, Global Privacy Control or other legally recognised method.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies and related technologies help the website function, maintain a cart, remember currency and preferences, prevent fraud, measure performance and support advertising. They may be set by Furnible, Shopify or another provider.

Category Purpose
Strictly necessary Checkout, account sign-in, security, fraud prevention, network operation, consent records and other functions required to provide the service.
Functional Language, currency, location, remembered preferences, customer support and enhanced website features.
Analytics Understanding visits, navigation, errors, conversions and service performance.
Advertising Measuring campaigns, limiting repetition, building audiences and showing relevant advertising on or off the Furnible website.

Where law requires consent, non-essential cookies are not used until consent is obtained. You can use the website cookie controls and browser settings to change choices. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent checkout or other core functions. Browser Do Not Track signals are not universally standardised; where legally required, we recognise supported Global Privacy Control signals for the relevant browser or device.

8. When we disclose information

We disclose only information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose, including to:

  • Shopify and commerce applications that host and operate the store;
  • Banks, card networks, payment gateways, financing and fraud-prevention providers;
  • Factories, suppliers, quality inspectors, warehouses and fulfilment partners involved in an order;
  • Freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, authorities, insurers, depots and last-mile carriers;
  • Cloud, email, messaging, customer-support, analytics, cybersecurity and professional service providers;
  • Advertising, social-media and review providers where permitted and enabled;
  • An authorised recipient, trade professional, project representative or other person you direct us to involve;
  • Courts, regulators, law enforcement, tax or customs authorities where required or lawfully permitted; and
  • Parties to a genuine financing, restructuring or sale of the business, subject to appropriate safeguards.

Independent providers may use information under their own privacy notices. Providers acting solely for Furnible are required through contractual or other practical measures to protect information, use it for authorised purposes and retain it no longer than necessary.

9. Shopify relationship

Information submitted through our store is transmitted to Shopify and its service providers. Shopify uses information to provide, secure and improve the commerce platform. Certain Shopify features may combine activity from our store with activity involving other merchants or Shopify services. For processing where Shopify determines the purposes and means, Shopify is responsible for responding to relevant requests. Review the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy and Shopify privacy portal for current details and controls.

10. International storage and transfers

Furnible operates internationally. Personal information may be accessed, stored or processed in Australia and in other countries where our customers, personnel, Shopify, payment providers, cloud providers, advertising platforms, factories, logistics providers and professional advisers operate. These may include mainland China, Singapore, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area and the destination country for an order.

Privacy protections and government-access rules differ between countries. Where EEA, UK or another law restricts an international transfer, we use an available lawful mechanism, which may include an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, binding provider terms, consent or another permitted exception. We also consider additional technical and organisational safeguards where appropriate.

You may contact us for further information about the safeguard relevant to a particular transfer, subject to confidentiality and security limitations.

11. Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, including order performance, warranty support, tax and accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal claims, security and backup recovery. Retention depends on the information and applicable law.

Record category Typical retention approach
Orders, invoices and accounting Generally retained for at least the period required by tax, accounting and company law, commonly up to seven years after the relevant transaction or longer if a dispute or legal hold applies.
Custom specifications and approvals Kept for the production, delivery and reasonable warranty or claim period, and longer where needed to evidence the agreed order.
Customer support and claims Kept until the issue is closed and for a reasonable period afterwards to manage repeat issues, warranty, legal claims and quality improvement.
Marketing preferences Kept while marketing continues and as a suppression record after opt-out so that the preference can be respected.
Online identifiers and analytics Retained according to the cookie setting and provider configuration, then deleted or aggregated where practical.
Security and fraud records Kept for a period proportionate to the risk, investigation, chargeback or legal requirement.

When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete, destroy or irreversibly anonymise it, subject to backup cycles and legal holds.

12. Security

We use reasonable administrative, contractual, physical and technical measures appropriate to the information and risk. Measures may include access controls, account authentication, encrypted transmission, provider due diligence, staff confidentiality, logging, backups, secure payment processing and incident procedures.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Do not send passwords, complete card details, identity documents or other highly sensitive information through an insecure or unsolicited channel. We will never ask you to provide a password by email or WhatsApp.

13. Data incidents

If we become aware of unauthorised access, loss or disclosure, we will investigate, contain the issue, preserve evidence and notify affected individuals and regulators where required. Notices may describe the incident, likely consequences, steps taken and recommended protective action.

14. Children

The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child who cannot validly consent under applicable law. A parent or guardian may contact us to request review or deletion. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of individuals under 16 for targeted advertising as those terms are defined by applicable US privacy laws.

15. Your rights and choices

Rights depend on where you live and are subject to lawful exceptions. They may include:

  • Confirmation of whether we hold personal information about you and access to a copy;
  • Correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • Deletion or erasure in eligible circumstances;
  • Restriction of or objection to certain processing;
  • Withdrawal of consent for future processing based on consent;
  • Data portability in a structured format where applicable;
  • Opt-out of direct marketing, targeted advertising, sale or sharing where applicable;
  • Appeal of a denied privacy request where local law provides that right; and
  • A complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) or another competent supervisory authority.

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), you may ask whether we hold your personal information, request access and request correction. We will respond within a reasonable period and will explain any refusal as required by law.

To exercise a right, email sales@furnible.com with the subject Privacy Request. Describe the request, country of residence and information involved. We may verify identity and authority using proportionate information. An authorised agent must show authority to act. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising a right.

16. Complaints

Send privacy complaints to sales@furnible.com with the subject Privacy Complaint. Include enough information for us to understand the concern. We will acknowledge the complaint, investigate objectively and provide an outcome or progress update within a reasonable time. Complex matters may take longer, and we will explain material delay where practicable.

You may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) or the data-protection authority in your jurisdiction. Contacting us first may allow a faster resolution but is not a condition of contacting a regulator.

17. Third-party websites and public content

Links, social-media widgets and external platforms are controlled by their operators. Review their privacy notices before submitting information. Information you post publicly, including a public review or social-media post, may be viewed, copied or used by others. Furnible is not responsible for an independent third party’s privacy practices.

18. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in law, technology, providers or business practices. We will publish the revised version and update the effective date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or seek consent. Material changes do not retrospectively authorise an incompatible use of information collected under an earlier notice.
